Overall objectives of the action

To develop a system of tourism circuits that provide rich experiences of the Carpathian nature by utilizing the existing and developing new infrastructures and education / visitor facilities, and by integrating tourism circuits into the livelihood activities of local people enabling the flow of benefits from tourism activities to the local communities

Specific objectives of the action

1. To develop a system of tourism transfrontier nature tourism circuits and prepare a strategy for Eastern Carpathians nature tourism development and its promotion; 2. To improve the quality and variety of the ecological based tourism products in the Eastern Carpathians; 3. To improve the system of ‘nature tourism’ promotion by conducting extensive promotion initiatives; 4. To build capacity and establish cooperation initiatives between Romanian and Ukrainian counterparts for the present and future development of nature and culture based tourism within the Central Carpathian; 5. To develop a model of good practice for nature tourism in Ukraine and Romania and an international model for managing sustainable cross border tourism in Central Europe

Estimated results

1). The Transfrontier nature tourism circuits and strategy has been developed and are being implemented through joint planning and participation of major stakeholders providing a model of best practice and impetus for NATURA 2000 expanding to Ukraine's territory; 2). New infrastructures and facilities are designed to upgrade the quality and diversity of nature based holiday products in Eastern Carpathians, offering a variety of safety, locality identification and education experience; 3).The "Carpathian Nature" tourism product are introduced and promoted to a national/international clientele; 4). The capacity for future development and cooperation has been built to all partner organizations, target groups, beneficiaries and stakeholders through the accumulation the necessary knowledge, best practices in order to improve the quality of nature destination management, infrastructure and innovative approaches to sustainability and environment protection in a wide sense (social, economic, and natural environment).
